Congo :Ninja militia group attacks government offices in Congo DRC (la violence attribuée aux Ninja)

The fighters were originally loyal to the former opposition leader, Bernard Kolelas - a former mayor of Brazzaville - and said to be linked to the Bakongo group, the largest ethnic group in the Republic of Congo.  A number of reports established that the Ninja belonged to a kind of messianic religious group who believed that the apocalypse was near.Recently the ninja militia fighters attaked congolese government offices in Congo brazaville.

The group resurfaced again because of the election of president Nguesso.The Ninja group wants the president to resign from office.

 

Congo : la violence attribuée aux Ninja

Des tirs nourris ont été entendus pendant plusieurs heures dans les bastions de l'opposition dans la capitale congolaise, Brazzaville.

Les manifestants ont bloqué des rues et incendié un poste de police ainsi qu'un bâtiment de l'administration locale.
Un groupe armé, connu sous le nom de Ninjas, serait impliqué dans les affrontements.
Les manifestants ont appelé le président Denis Sassou Nguesso à démissionner.
Selon la télévision d'Etat, la violence a été déclenchée par des partisans de l'opposition.
M. Sassou Nguesso a été réélu le mois dernier suite à un référendum qui a mis fin à la limitation d’âge et aux mandats présidentiels.
